15 Most Awaited Movies of Second Half of 2016

2016 is already halfway over and with most awaited movies of the year already released in Summer and early this year, like Batman v Superman Dawn of Justice, Captain America Civil War, Finding Dory and The Jungle Book. The year have been particularly well with good productions being released like Eye in The Sky and recently Neon Demon. But also included some disappointments like Angry Birds, Warcraft and Neighbors 2.

But it does not mean that the year is over, there are a lot of movies coming out the latter half of the year that we should be excited about. So let us gear in and check out the most awaited Movies of second half of 2016.

15. Jack Reacher Never Go Back

In 2012 Tom Cruise starred in Jack Reacher which Instantly became fan favorite. Mr. Reacher\’s Violence filled hilarious jokes can never get old. So in 2016 Tom Cruise is back in Jack Reacher Never Go Back, where Jack and his old boss (Cobie Smulders!) uncovers a military scam.

With director of Blood Diamond and Cobie Smulders joining Tom Cruise, nothing can go wrong. Right ?

14. Ghostbusters


Thirty Six years after the original, Ghostbusters has been remade. Looking at the latest trend of remaking every movie, Hollywood will not leave any classic by the end of next decade. Under much speculation and controversy, they changed the gender of whole cast and have fans going crazy all over the internet. The remake of dark comedy stars Melissa McCarthy, Kristian Wigg, Siguornney Weaver and Chris Hemsworth.

No matter how many feminists try to defend the movie, people will still watch the movie and Fans of Original are waiting to check out the movie in theaters just to trash it and shred it to pieces. Ah! So much for Gender Equality

13. Inferno


Based on Dan Brown\’s latest bestseller, Inferno stars Tom Hanks as Professor Robert Langdon who once again is in a European city, once more with a woman he does not know anything about and is running late to solve a mystery. Only this time the stakes are high, if he fails half of the Earth\’s population will die and he does not remember anything before getting up in a hospital.

Directed by Ron Howard, Inferno also stars Felicity Jones, Irrfan Khan, Ben Foster and Omar Sy. After not so great and successful Angels and Demons and The Davinci Code, there is no doubt fans of Dan Brown\’s Novels will be lining for the tickets for the movie.

12. Kubo and The Two Strings

An Animated movie, which is not a sequel to anything, not based on any other animated movie or a follow up to another story. An original Story years into making. Kubo and The Two Strings is a fantasy adventure Saga and a stop action animation movie which looks breathtakingly beautiful. Kubo and The Two Strings will sure be up for grabbing a nod at Academy this year. With voice acting from Charlize Theron, Mathew McConaughey, Ralph Fiennes and Rooney Mara, it is definitely going to be a box office hit.

11. Star Trek Beyond


After a successful Star Trek Into Darkness, Producer JJ Abrams is back with new movie in the Franchisee Star Trek Beyond. Directed by Justin Lin (famous for Fast and Furious Franchisee) the movie follows once again Captain Kirk and his Crew Members of Enterprise, they are stranded on an unknown planet where Local Aliens are trying to hunt them.

After recent unfortunate Death of young Anton Yelchin in a car Accident, the movie has received its marketing and will be quite a bust on box office.

10. Jason Bourne


Matt Damon is finally returning as the titular character of Jason Bourne after highly successful Bourne Ultimatum in 2007. The fifth movie in the franchisee follows once again Matt Damon as Jason Bourne chasing CIA through countries and an assassin on his tail. After 2007, the director of Bourne Ultimatum and Matt Damon had clearly stated that they will only return for another Bourne movie unless they have a good script and they have a good one.

A definitive worldwide hit, with Acting talent of Damon, Alicia Vikander and Tommy Lee Jones the movie is going to be an incredible action extravaganza.

9. La La Land


A musical Comedy Drama starring Emma Stone and Ryan Gosling as leading pair and J.K. Simmons again as a Boss!. Shut up and take my money. The icing on the cake being the movie is directed by Damien Chazelle (Whiplash!). After a great debut movie Whiplash, the director has a promising career ahead. Add to that the romance of Emma Stone and Ryan Gosling and you have a stunner.

8. A Monster Calls

A fantasy Drama directed by J.A. Bayona (The Impossible) stars Liam Neeson, Sigourney Weaver and Felicity Jones. The Story about a boy who is visited by a tree monster at night who take him on a journey of truth, loss, and helps him cope for his Mom\’s terminal Illness. based on novel by Patrick Ness which is heartbreaking and touching story. Be prepared to have napkins in your hand,because the story can break you into millions of pieces and those eyes will be running by the end.

Not only the star cast is great, the director is very good the story is brilliant. Trust me, i have read the script for the movie.

7. The Accountant 

Surprisingly original, The movie stars Ben Affleck (Our very own Batman), Anna Kendrick and J.K. Simmons (Again!). The movie follows Affleck as an Autistic accountant who has a couple of more special hidden talents which makes him special. The trailer is one of the most promising i have seen for the upcoming year. The acting plus the cinematography may take this to a whole new level.

6.Miss Peregrine\’s Home for Peculiar Children


The Director Tim Burton famous for his Gothic styled Dark Humor movies is back with a children Fantasy movie! Miss Peregrine\’s Home for Peculiar Children does not really look like a Tim Burton Movie, but it holds a surprise as Eva Green and a talented Asa Butterfield.Based on a children adventure novel, the movie looks beautiful with bright colors and nice cinematography. I am sure though this  movie will split the critics in halves.

5. Doctor Strange


Upcoming Marvel movie stars Benedict Cumberbatch and Rachel McAdams. Taking in Dr. Stephen Strange, the sorcerer in their Cinematic universe, Marvel is building up the world to an epic finale at Infinty War. Not only the movie looks good, with trippy sequences and nice direction. The movie has a good star cast to boast too. We will be waiting with passion for this one to role out.

4. Rogue One : A Star Wars Story


A Spin off from Star Wars universe which is also a prequel, the movie also has Darth Vader in it. What else do you need? Star Wars fans are skipping on their feet right now while waiting for the movie to be out in theaters. Starring Felicity Jones (Again!) and Donny Yen!! the movie is directed by Gareth Edwards, the director of 2014 Godzilla. But the movie has faced a lot of production issues and has also been gone through multiple re-shoots. We can just hope this to be just as much fun as last years Episode 7 was.

3. Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find them


The Harry Potter Franchisee can never end for Potterheads, because oit will forever stay in their hearts. But this year they have a lot of things to be added into their minds too. With the play harry Potter and The cursed child scheduled later this year, the Harry Potter Spinoff Fantastic Beasts and Where to find them is also releasing soon this year. This spinoff is not situauted in Wizardly world of Britain, instead the movie follows Newt Scamander in his trip to America to find and catch beasts. Starring Eddie Redmayne, Ezra Millerand Colin Farell, this movie is going to be one magical ride.

2. Suicide Squad


Getting back one of the most likable Villain of all time, The Joker. Suicide Squad is not only  one of the most awaited movies if this year, it is already a box offcice wonder. Elaborating the DC cinematic Universe, Suicide Squad Follows a group of Thugs and criminals who bust up other criminals. The movie stars Jared Leto as The Joker, Margot Robbie as Harley Quinn, Will Smith as Deadshot, Cara Delevingne as The Enchantress and Jay Courtney as Captain Boomerang. Not to forget the Batman appearing in multiple Scenes.And not to forget the Director of Brad Pitt starrer Fury directing the extravaganza Suicide Squad looks too much fun.

1. Silence


Martin Scorsese is up at it again. His Dream Project Silence is completed and  will be getting its release this year. The Director of The Departed and The Wolf of Wall Street has his best work lined for us to witness. There is no denying that Martin Scorsese has not made a bad movie yet. And when you look at the star cast of Silence, which consist of Adam Driver, Liam Neeson and Andrew Garfield. And the movie being pro Christianity, a historical fiction. You can easily see an Oscar Nomination in the making or possibly a winner too. From IMDB, the story is about : In the seventeenth century, two Jesuit priests face violence and persecution when they travel to Japan to locate their mentor and propagate Christianity.
